Take the First Step in Your Weight Loss Journey

For many of us, resolutions are very common during the New Year. And the most common resolution we make? To lose weight.

Weight loss, however, is not easy for some. There are those who still struggle in losing those excess pounds even by changing their diet and physical activity. If this describes your case, then you may want to consider bariatric surgery.

Is bariatric surgery right for you?

Bariatric or weight loss surgery refers to a number of procedures that can lead to weight loss. It could be through restricting the amount of food the stomach can hold, causing malabsorption of nutrients, or a combination of these two.

Unfortunately, weight loss surgery is not for everyone. General qualifications for bariatric surgery include:

  • a BMI of 40 or more
  • a BMI of 35 or more and having an obesity-related co-morbidity such as type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea, hypertension, osteoarthritis, and heart disease

If any of these apply to you, then the next step in your bariatric journey is attending a seminar.

Bariatric surgery practices usually conduct these weight loss seminars weekly or every few days. The goal of the seminar is to make sure that prospective bariatric surgery patients have the thorough understanding of what they’ll be going through. It’s also a way to meet a surgeon and address any concern you may have.

Weight loss seminars usually cover an overview of the different weight loss procedures, former patient stories, the surgeon’s experience and credentials, and the type of procedures the surgeon specializes in.

At Foothills Weight Loss Center, we are committed to providing the best care to our patients. We offer both live and online seminars for our patient’s convenience. You can register for our live or online seminar here.

Commit to a healthier you this year. If weight loss is a struggle, then give us a call. We can help.
