Shots or squats? – the MVF Newsround 11/1/19

Fancy seeing you here! I’m glad you’re back. Good Christmas? Enough of the small talk, let’s get back to it. This week on the Newsround…

Now that January is in full swing, we’re looking ahead to the launch of our brand new MAN v FAT Football leagues at the end of Jan! We’ve got new leagues starting in Sheffield, Leeds, Chelmsford, Hastings, Plymouth and Redbridge, so if you’re around we’d love to see you on the pitch at the end of January. Get more info here.

In other news…

Remember the Egg Nog Jog we mentioned a while back? Where you walk, jog or run at least a mile every day in December. Well, here’s an update. All profits went to a Suffolk-based charity Henry’s Holiday Help who help children fighting cancer, and runners from Europe and as far away as the land down under joined in.

The Egg Nog Jog was arranged by those behind the annual Suffolk Trail Festival taking plan on the 15th and 16th of June. If you love getting active, camping and family entertainment, it’s worth a look.

49% of Britons are focusing on fitness for their new year’s resolutions. Research by Decathlon also looked into why people are prioritising their fitness and found that a quarter of participants want to start working out to improve their mood and just over 20% are starting out to let them relax. 51% want to improve their wellbeing holistically and 35% want to be healthier and good for them!

Over half of 18-35-year-olds would rather work out than go to a nightclub (personally, I don’t blame them!Surveys show that we’re getting more health conscious than ever. Do you prefer squats over shots? Let us know on the forum.
