REN Glow Daily Vitamin C Gel Cream

REN Glow Daily Vitamin C Gel Cream

Vitamin C can feel pretty active on the skin, depending upon how it’s delivered, and that’s not great for sensitive complexions, so this version of Vitamin C cream from REN makes the bold claim that sensitive skin will be fine with it. There’s a bit more to this gel cream than you might imagine – in other words, shhh, it’s better than it looks.

Vitamin C is a useful ingredient for tackling hyperpigmentation if it bothers you, and the low light of winter is a good time to do it. It’s also indicated in Magnesium makes an appearance as a skin soother, flakiness reducer and collagen encourager, but the ingredient to take note of is Tara Pod. I’ve literally never heard of it, but it addresses beauty’s favourite buzz word, the microbiome. Put simply the microbiome is the network of healthy bacteria that plays such an important part in keeping us from falling to bits. I’ve looked and can’t find any supporting research that indicates Tara Pod as having a big part to play in a healthy microbiome, but REN is known for early use of pioneering ingredients so I have no reason to doubt (although I’d feel happier if I could find some science) its ability. REN indicates it in smoothing and refining skin texture (and I have found science that says Tara Pod has firming abilities) by supporting the microbiome.

This is a good all rounder if you’ve got hyperpigmentation that you’d like to see reduced along with a light feeling decent level of hydration. A big deal for me is that it didn’t interact badly with my foundation which gel-cream formulas often do. Vitamin C Gel Cream is £38 HERE at Space.
