It’s been 9 whole years, guys. ChloeAsh, the blog, has been around for more than 9 years. Isn’t it crazy? So much has changed. I had only 1 baby back then, and now I have 2 teenage daughters and 1 young man who is 4 turning 10. I worked full time as a banker and now I am a full time mommy with less and less time to actually blog. I am also about 10kgs heavier, but hey who’s counting? Hahaha!
Do you agree that life is about taking chances? I took a chance to get pregnant as soon as we got married because I didn’t want to be 50 and still carrying a toddler around. After many years, I took a chance on having a 3rd child, and got a beautiful boy. We are so blessed to have 3 beautiful healthy children. I also just jumped straight into full motherhood by handing in my resignation. Best risk, best choice I’ve made, leaving a toxic environment.
And then I settled. I really got comfortable in what I’ve been doing, and when I’m comfortable, I slow down and get lazy. Then Chanel send me a little gift, a bottle of Chance Eau Tendre EdP, with a huge sign that says, TAKE A NEW CHANCE. It gave me a little jolt. I haven’t been taking chances lately. I’ve been doing the most monotonous things, I haven’t really been motivated to try something new. So when my husband approached me with a job proposal, I took a chance. I said YES. I will be the social media manager for his new company! I’ll be working from home of course, but I’m easing into actually having something different to do. I think it’s a good thing! And that’ll lead to something else because kids will grow older and I’ll have more time to help out, but that’s a few years yet.
I’ve been wearing Chance Eau Tendre a lot lately. It has been so hot, so this fresh floral scent is a great picker upper. I’m quite sensitive to musk, so I detect a stronger musk scent. It usually gives me a headache when not mixed properly, but I’m OK with this. For this perfume, I spray it on my tummy. Yes, my tummy. It doesn’t travel to my nose as quickly, but it still gives off a lovely scent. The warmth of my skin mellows it further throughout the day. Every time I see the bottle in the morning, I remind myself not to be too comfortable where I am and try something new.
I know this isn’t your typical perfume review. I don’t have a trained sophisticated nose, for a start. In fact, my nose is super sensitive and I sneeze easily. More importantly, I wanted to share with you what’s been happening in my world. And the thing that sparked that little change is actually Chanel Chance. I could’ve and would’ve told my husband no, go hire somebody else. I could’ve and would’ve said no to lunches with old friends, because I’m a hermit like that. I could have written your conventional perfume review that tells you about each note but I personally find that oh, so boring!! I really wanted to tell you that I’m also taking a new chance with the blog. I’m going to change its direction completely, but it isn’t April Fool’s day anymore. Hah!
Anyway, I want to also take this opportunity to thank all of you who have been reading my ramblings, because I really, just literally write whatever that goes through my head. I do my best to keep it real, like I’m personally speaking to my friends in real life, so thank you for humouring me the past 9 years. I am humbled you are still here, and before I go, let me just say one thing.
Take a chance on something today. Even something little that deviates from your routine. Or something you’re unsure of, a decision you have to make. Take a chance to say yes (or no), or just to show up. It’ll add a little spark to your day. Who knows what excitement that little chance leads to? Then when you walk past Chanel, take a little sniff of Chanel Chance Eau Tendre, the pink round bottle.
