SUQQU Autumn 2019 | British Beauty Blogger

[productsamples/affiliates] Suqqu collections are really a treat – they’re one of the most popular brands I ever post about despite being in relatively limited distribution. It’s really next level quality and an absolute pleasure to write about and test. The collection is inspired by Urushi, an ancient Japanese lacquerware – subtly lustrous and vital.

The Tone Touch Eyes Singles (£24) are available in three finishes: frost, which looks matte in the palette but has a gentle luminosity, Silk which has a pearl finish and Stellar which is ALL of the shimmer! Above, you can see 07 Sakiroka (silk), 03 Hiyatsuki  frost) and 14 Ekra (stellar).

In this picture, it’s 04 Sukesumi (frost), 06 Suzukinu (pearl) and 15 Boreboshi (stellar). I can say honestly that the swatches went on to my skin with such fluidity and consistency it was like using paint. Aside from the six I have here, there are nine other shades. Because I’m in a mono shade phase on my lids at the moment, these are perfect for giving colour to the lids that speak on their own and aren’t reliant on other shades or fancy make up artistry to look considered and beautiful.

From bottom to top: Sakiroka, Hiyatsuki, Enka, Sukesumi, Suzukinu and Boreboshi. Sakiroka has a interesting blue shift to it.

SUQQU Autumn 2019

If you like a shadow of colour that gives your lips lustre and juiciness, all three above are candidates! The lipsticks are very sheer, beautifully hydrating (but do need regular reapplication). From right to left: 111 Fusubeiro, a milk chocolate brown shade with sparkles and 11 Rinku, a dusky rose pink tint, 103 Sumikasane, a very, very light plum nuance set in a gloss designed to give only one shade darker than natural lip colours. Suqqu describe Sumikasane as a water colour lip ink which wouldn’t really fit with what we usually associate with this term – it’s more a gloss.

SUQQU Autumn 2019

There are two more lip ink shades (all limited edition, £22) – Mizuurushi in red and Jyumitsu, a yellow amber.

SUQQU Autumn 2019

The palette that I have from the autumn collection is 13 Tsukikasumi (£46).  Again, you get all that same silky feel and perfect colour lay down that the singles provide.

SUQQU Autumn 2019

It’s one of three quad palettes for the collection. In the swatch above you can see the first four shades which belong to the quad, followed by the eyeliner and blush, coming up next….

SUQQU Autumn 2019

The blush shade I have is 10 Usumoya (£34), a light-to-brickish peach and one of three different offerings. The liquid liner, Suqqu Colour Ink Liquid Liner (£24) is 104 Autumn Orange that gives a burnt orange metallic finish. It’s also one of three. Everything is HERE but remember all these collections sell out fast (there will be stock at Harrods and Fenwicks from 22nd August). If I can recommend just one thing it would be the single shade-shifty shadow in Sakiroka – it reminds me of an Urban Decay shade (I can’t remember the name but I’m sure someone will) but it’s more subtle and more beautiful quality.
