This collection is aimed at those with normal to oily hair that like to wash it every day (although I am convinced that bullies your scalp into making more oil so perhaps try every other day) and like the feel of a detox shampoo without the associated harshness. I’m so impressed with this – it’s an absolute delight to use! As I washed (there’s plenty of foam) the peppermint fragrance just got more and more and it’s a really sharp, fiery mint that wakes your brain right up. In fact, the brand uses a blend of mint, thyme, grapefruit, lavender and cedar so if you’re not awake after that lot, you might as well go straight back to bed!
It’s quite a ‘French’ thing to use vinegars in skin and hair care – this collection uses a herbal vinegar as a scalp freshener which I must admit didn’t particularly work for me but perhaps I didn’t pay enough attention to directing it to the scalp. Speaking of scalps, there is also a Cleansing Scrub and a Scalp Essence which are both more appropriate for over production of oil so if you don’t have that, you probably don’t ‘need’ them as such. Really, the best thing about this collection is the olfactory experience – it turns a hair wash into an aromatherapy treat and left my hair smelling so clean for at least two days afterwards. The shampoo is £19, as is the conditioner, while the vinegar spray is £23.
The collection hasn’t quite launched yet (it might already be in stores) but it’s a summer treat for hair well worth having if you spot it. If you hair is dry but you still want the minty blast, you could use the shampoo and then a different, more hydrating conditioner.
