Just Released! New LXMI Nilotica Body Velvet…Just In Time For Parched Skin Season. 30% Off For You, Too! ‹ The Green Product Junkie

I’m excited to introduce you to a line (and product) that’s totally new for me.  Plus, I think the timing is just right because we’ll all be dealing with flakey, dry body skin from the cold very soon.  Light, and like velvet, the Nilotica Body Velvet balm slips onto the skin (really feels velvety) and absorbs so quickly.  I don’t know about you, but unless I have the day off and I’m lounging around, I usually need to get dressed immediately following my shower and don’t have too much time to wait around for products to absorb.  This body balm melts on contact and leaves behind soft, smooth, hydrated skin (there’s nothing oily about this once you rub it into your skin).  Something important to note is that it doesn’t even leave an oily look on the skin, either.  Oh, and I would also recommend putting this on your feet before bed and then covering them with socks so you wake up with really soft feet in the morning.

The scent is the first thing I noticed (after the gorgeous packaging)!  I have to admit that I picked up the Body Velvet a few times in the hopes of coming up with some very interesting adjective to describe it, but it’s just really pretty and fresh and…tropical!  It’s a mix of grapefruit and bergamot and if you like sweet citrus, you’ve got your new body balm!  I honestly think this scent is pretty much universally adored – a fresh, bright and happy scent that it uplifting and great for all seasons.  It leaves a subtle scent on the skin, too.

While in Uganda, the founder of LXMI realized the huge benefits of Nilotica (NILE-ot-i-kah), which is a rare relative of shea butter (due to the fact that it has 25% more oleic acid than Shea butter, it’s really moisturizing for the skin). When I tell you that you can feel the difference, it’s true.  While high in fatty acids, it also has a great texture and high vitamin (A, E & K) and nutrient content.  Because this USDA certified organic ingredient is difficult to source (and costly), it isn’t used by the cosmetics industry as often as one might think.  And when they say it’s difficult to source they mean it…Nilotica is harvest seasonally from 20-year old trees at the Nile.  East African women also benefit as the harvesting and production gives them income (love this).  With a base of sweet almond oil, LXMI’s Body Velvet has all of the heavy hitters in serious green beauty body moisture:  beeswax, olive oil, coconut oil, shea, marula and more.

Ingredients:  Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Beeswax, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Isoamyl Laurate, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Sclerocarya Birrea (Marula) Oil, Myrica Pubescens (Lauryl) Fruit Wax, Myrica Cerifera (Bayberry) Fruit Wax, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Seed Oil, Schinziophyton Rautanenii (Manketti) Kernel Oil, Citrus Paradisi Oil, Citrus Bergamia (Bergamot) Oil, Limonene.

LXMI has generously offered my readers 30% off with the code KATIE30.  Please give them a try as this is a great offer and perfect for dry skin!

This is a sponsored post.  All opinions are mine!  Love it.
