bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Stick
[productsample/affiliate] If you’ve read this blog for a while, you’ll know that bareMinerals Complexion Rescue is my every day go-to base. I love it – I can’t even count the number of tubes of Wheat I’ve been through. It’s not my going-out base, it’s my walk-the-dog base where just a little hint of something, plus decent hydration, is needed every day. I usually add a dot of Paul & Joe cream blush and some lip balm and it just stops me looking as though I’ve only just rolled out of bed and have put at least a little effort in! It has an SPF30 rating and I walk early so while I wouldn’t necessarily rely on it at mid-day it does me fine at 8am.

It’s definitely happy days for me that there is now a stick version of my favourite base. Bobbi Brown stick foundation was my conversion to a format that I’ve previously not had any time for at all. The difference with the bareMinerals stick (SPF25) is that it is water based so feels immediately cooling on the skin. You stripe across your cheeks (nose to cheek way) and then blend across and over with a brush. The brand calls it medium coverage – I would call it light – and they’re also calling it the first ‘clean’ water-based liquid foundation. I don’t know what’s clean about this but it is vegan at least.

I’ve inadvertently matched my arm to my floor! In the swatch, Wheat, Cashew and Suede – I can wear all of these shades although my best match currently, and usually, is Wheat. So, it’s a comfort wear, without a doubt, nicely hydrating and more matte in finish than the liquid version. If you like the original, I think you’ll equally like this and it’s busting that liquid allowance so a good buy for travellers. It’s £28 (I notice not every shade is in stock) HERE non affiliate link HERE.
